The two–week Grand Scan Contest gives one PC Optimum member a chance to win 25 million points, while EQ Bank brings interactive point–earning experiences to select Loblaw stores in three Canadian cities.
EQ Bank is expanding its presence within the PC Optimum ecosystem with a major consumer promotion that includes a 25 million–point prize and interactive in–store events across Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary.
Announced August 12, 2026, the initiative centres on the Grand Scan Contest, which EQ Bank describes as its largest–ever single–winner PC Optimum points giveaway. The contest, administered by Loblaw, ran nationally from August 13 through August 26 and offered one winner a prize of 25 million PC Optimum points. PC Optimum members could receive an automatic entry by spending at least $20 at participating Loblaw–affiliated grocery stores or Shoppers Drug Mart locations and scanning their PC Optimum card through the program’s app or a digital wallet at checkout. An alternative email–entry method was also available through the official contest process.
The campaign also brought EQ Bank directly into selected Loblaw stores. At temporary pop–up installations, PC Optimum members could take part in Spin–to–Win activities for additional points while learning about EQ Bank’s plans to connect banking, rewards and everyday spending more closely. The pop–up schedule covered three cities: Toronto from August 13 to 16, Vancouver from August 20 to 23, and Calgary from August 27 to 30. The Calgary activation is scheduled to run through August 30 at the Real Canadian Superstore Calgary–Signal Hill.
The campaign comes as EQ Bank takes on a larger role in Loblaw’s financial–services and loyalty ecosystem. EQB, EQ Bank’s parent company, acquired PC Financial from Loblaw in a transaction that was expected to close July 1, 2026. Under the broader relationship, EQB became the exclusive financial partner of the PC Optimum program.
EQ Bank says the strategy is intended to give consumers more opportunities to earn rewards through ordinary financial and shopping activities. The bank’s promotion therefore represents more than a standalone contest: it is an early public example of how EQ Bank and PC Optimum are being positioned together following the PC Financial transaction.
With PC Optimum serving more than 18 million members, the partnership gives EQ Bank access to a large existing loyalty audience while giving the program another financial–services connection through which rewards can be integrated into everyday banking.
