Babu Nair

Founder & MD

Babu Nair, the Founder and Managing Director of Financial Technology Frontiers, is a Toronto-based entrepreneur, innovator, and a globally recognized leader and influencer in the fields of finance, media, and technology with a legacy of 20 years in financial services, financial technology and events ecosystems in India. Having begun his career in India as a marketing professional with Indian Express Newspapers’ Express Computer – a technology B2B magazine, in 1995, he has since evolved as a pioneer in the technology sector. His move into the financial services sector was in 2002, with the founding of Banking Frontiers – the first and till date, a premium financial services magazine with a blend of technologies that power the sector.

He has several firsts to his credit such as:

– Launch of India’s first Financial Services Technology magazine – Banking Frontiers.

– Launch of the world’s first video channel for Financial Services FinBizness, which later transformed to Banking Frontiers Live.

– Conceptualizing the first Innovations Conclave and Awards for the Financial Services and Fintech Services in South Asia.

In addition, Babu is credited with:

– Conceptualizing and organizing over 1500 Global Financial Services and Fintech events.

– Having a wide global network of Financial Services experts and consultants in different continents across the world for domain and market access consulting.

– Being one of the few global experts with a combined understanding of Banking, Financial Services, Fintech, Technology , media, content, digital, and events business.

Babu is an active mentor and investor in fintech and has been guiding several scale-ups in the fintech sectors enabling them to accelerate into newer markets, forge new tie-ups, incubate, seek investments, mergers and acquisitions. He also empowers them to enrich their product line with strong domain support through the large network of consultants associated with the ecosystem of Financial Technology Frontiers, Banking Frontiers, and the Financial Technology market place. He also is an active member of select deal rooms involved in Fintech investments. He is a former Rotarian and Paul Harris Fellow and works strongly on gender inclusion and skill building in the area of Financial Services.

Narasimham Nittala is an IT Governance, Risk and Compliance (IT GRC) Leader with extensive expertise in developing and implementing GRC programs for IT and Information Security (IS) in global and Canadian financial services firms.

A strong communicator, author of technology risk and policy frameworks, and public speaker.

Excel in addressing C–Suite and Board expectations in IT GRC areas such as assessing technology risk, aligning IT risk with Enterprise risk initiatives, regulating and monitoring compliance in financial institutions.

A passionate people leader, he takes pride in leading, mentoring, and coaching cross–functional teams in the field of IT GRC.

Contribute to the Cybersecurity community through his Program Director position on the Board of ISACA Calgary Chapter.

An MBA by academics, his professional designations include CDPSE, CRISC, CGEIT and CISA.
