Toronto-based fintech Zafin has announced a strategic partnership with OpenAI to embed ChatGPT Enterprise across its product development and delivery functions. The collaboration aims to accelerate innovation and enhance efficiency as banks face increasing pressure from legacy systems, agile digital competitors, and rising customer expectations.
According to Branavan Selvasingham, Zafin’s Head of AI and Engineering, the company is scaling its AI-powered platform to help banks deliver personalized experiences and dynamic pricing at speed. By integrating generative AI into internal workflows, Zafin is streamlining ideation, simplifying complex tasks, and driving faster, more precise decision-making.
James Dyett, OpenAI’s Head of Enterprise and Strategic Sales, praised the move, stating Zafin is a prime example of how enterprises are embedding AI to transform how teams work and generate customer value.
Zafin’s modular banking platform, used by institutions like CIBC, HSBC, and Commercial Bank International, was recently enhanced with a new “Transaction Enrichment” feature. The company was acquired by Sweden-based private equity firm Nordic Capital in 2023.
