Citigroup has named Chris Biotti, a senior executive from Bank of America Private Bank, as the new Head of Citi Private Bank North America, effective May 2025.
Biotti will succeed Cayman Wills, who currently oversees Citi’s U.S. Northeast and Midwest regions and will serve as interim head until Biotti officially assumes the role.
With over 12 years at Bank of America Private Bank, where he led the Northeast division, and nearly 13 years at U.S. Trust, Biotti brings extensive private banking and wealth management experience. He has also held key roles at Deutsche Bank and Neuberger Berman.
This leadership transition is part of Citi’s broader private banking restructuring, initiated after Ida Liu’s departure as global head in January 2024. Citi has divided its private banking leadership into four regional heads:
- Steven Lo – North Asia, South Asia, Japan, and Australia
- James Holder – UK, Europe, Middle East, and Africa
- Antonio Gonzales – Latin America
- Chris Biotti – North America (effective May 2025)
Additionally, Citi recently completed the separation of its Mexican retail banking unit, Banamex, from its institutional banking business, forming Grupo Financiero Banamex and Grupo Financiero Citi México.
This strategic leadership reshuffle aligns with Citi’s efforts to enhance its private banking services, regional market penetration, and client-focused wealth management solutions.
