Standard Chartered Appoints David Hardoon as Global Head of AI Enablement

Standard Chartered has announced the appointment of David Hardoon as Global Head of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Enablement, reinforcing the Bank’s strategic focus on leveraging AI and advanced analytics to drive innovation and strengthen its competitive edge. David assumes the role with immediate effect and will be based in Singapore, reporting directly to Mohammed Rahim, Group Chief Data Officer. 

With over 22 years of experience in the data and AI space across Banking, Advisory, Government, and Education, David is a highly respected leader in the field. He previously played a pivotal role in shaping Singapore’s national AI strategy, particularly through his work with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in advancing data ethics and cross-border AI frameworks aligned with the FEAT (Fairness, Ethics, Accountability, and Transparency) principles. 

In his new capacity, David will be responsible for advancing the Bank’s AI capabilities, establishing strong governance frameworks, and identifying impactful AI opportunities across functions. His role will be central to streamlining operations, enhancing client experiences, and embedding data-driven innovation throughout the organization.
