Alan Koenigsberg

Cardlay has made a significant move in its expansion strategy by appointing Alan Koenigsberg, former President of Visa Global Services, to its Advisory Board. This announcement signals a major milestone in Cardlay’s efforts to enter the U.S. market, with plans to launch two key solutions this summer.

Koenigsberg brings decades of experience from high-impact roles at Visa, American Express, JPMorgan Chase, and Bank of America. He previously collaborated with Cardlay during his tenure at Visa, where they laid the groundwork for the company’s U.S. growth strategy. In his new advisory role, Koenigsberg will assist Cardlay’s leadership team with go-to-market strategies, partnership development, and expanding operations across North America.

“We are thrilled to welcome Alan to the Cardlay team,” said Jørgen Christian Juul, CEO and Founder of Cardlay. “His deep industry expertise and strategic insights are crucial as we enter the U.S. market. Alan’s understanding of the payments landscape and his alignment with our vision will be key in empowering financial institutions through innovation.”

Koenigsberg expressed his enthusiasm for joining Cardlay, stating, “Cardlay is at the forefront of transforming commercial card and spend management solutions. I’m excited to work closely with the team as the company expands into the U.S. market. The platform is uniquely positioned to address the inefficiencies in traditional systems and help banks deliver modern, digital-first solutions to their clients.”

After his tenure at Visa, Koenigsberg founded Koenigsberg Insights, a firm focused on advancing financial inclusion, reducing operational costs, and enhancing transparency—values that are closely aligned with Cardlay’s mission. His appointment comes at a time when U.S. financial institutions are looking for modern solutions to replace legacy systems and meet the evolving needs of their customers.

With Koenigsberg’s leadership, Cardlay is poised to play a transformative role in the American payments landscape, building on its global expertise to make a significant impact in the fintech sector.
