Waterloo, ON – October 6, 2025: OpenText Corporation (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTEX) has announced the appointment of George Schindler, former President and CEO of CGI Inc., to its Board of Directors.
Schindler, who led CGI from 2016 to 2024, brings extensive experience in strategic IT consulting and global business leadership. During his tenure, he drove CGI’s profitable growth strategy, solidifying its position as one of the world’s leading technology and consulting firms. He continues to serve on CGI’s board.
Welcoming the appointment, Tom Jenkins, Executive Chair of OpenText’s Board, said, “As a former CEO with a proven record of driving growth and creating shareholder value, George will bring a valuable perspective as we continue to sharpen our focus on Information Management for AI.”
Before becoming CEO, Schindler held several key leadership roles at CGI, including President and COO (2015–2016) and President, U.S. and Canada Operations (2011–2015). A recognized industry leader, he has been named among Federal Computer Week’s Top 100 Leaders twice and holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Purdue University.
