TD Bank is joining Mastercard’s global Priceless Planet Coalition to support reforestation efforts in British Columbia, specifically in the Thompson Watershed area, which has been severely impacted by recent wildfires. From October 24, 2024, to January 15, 2025, TD Bank will donate up to 30,000 trees to the project for every MBNA credit cardholder who switches from paper to e-statements.
Jennifer Bishop, Vice President and Executive Journey Product Owner at TD Bank, expressed pride in partnering with Mastercard, emphasizing that sustainability is a core value for TD. She highlighted that the initiative aligns with the bank’s mission to support local communities.
Diane Miquelon, Senior Vice President of Financial Institutions at Mastercard Canada, noted the importance of inspiring people to make a positive impact on their environment. This collaboration allows Canadian customers to contribute to the reforestation effort.
The Priceless Planet Coalition is supported by over 150 corporate partners and engages in 19 tree restoration projects across six continents. The initiative, led by Mastercard in partnership with experts like Conservation International and the World Resources Institute, aims to restore 100 million trees globally. In Canada, Tree Canada is the local partner for the project.
This collaboration reflects Mastercard’s commitment to leveraging its business and technology to combat climate change and support sustainable, inclusive growth.
