PayPal has announced plans to create 100 new high-skilled roles at its Dublin offices, reinforcing its commitment to advanced data science, AI, and digital trust. The newly created positions will span across AI engineering, data science, software development, risk modelling, and cybersecurity, and will contribute to PayPal’s global innovation efforts.
Aaron Webster, PayPal’s Global Chief Risk Officer, said the expansion reflects the company’s confidence in Ireland’s tech ecosystem and its vision of building an AI-driven, data-powered future. He added that these roles will help ensure trust and safety in every transaction.
Supported by IDA Ireland, the move is seen as a strong signal of Ireland’s ongoing appeal as a hub for high-value investments. IDA CEO Michael Lohan described PayPal’s expansion as a testament to the country’s skilled workforce and innovation-friendly environment.
This job creation follows a period of restructuring for PayPal in Ireland, which saw multiple rounds of layoffs and the closure of its Dundalk office in 2023. Despite those cutbacks, the new investment marks a pivot toward strategic growth in emerging technologies.
