Julius Baer Appoints New CEO

Zurich, Switzerland – July 23, 2024 – Julius Baer announced today the appointment of Stefan Bollinger as its new Chief Executive Officer. Bollinger, currently a partner at Goldman Sachs, will assume his new role in early 2025.

With a three-decade career in financial markets spanning various roles including trading, structuring, sales, treasury, and wealth management, Bollinger brings a wealth of experience to Julius Baer. His tenure at Goldman Sachs, particularly his leadership of the PWM Europe, Middle East, and Africa business, where assets under management doubled, underscores his ability to drive growth and deliver value.

Bollinger’s appointment follows a comprehensive search initiated after the resignation of Philipp Rickenbacher earlier this year. The bank expressed gratitude to interim CEO Nic Dreckmann for his leadership during the transition period.

Julius Baer’s Chairman, Romeo Lacher, expressed confidence in Bollinger’s ability to lead the bank into the future, emphasizing his focus on client value, risk management, and fostering a culture of excellence.

Bollinger expressed his enthusiasm for joining Julius Baer and his commitment to building on the bank’s strengths to deliver sustainable growth.
