CIBC Wins Best Gen-AI Initiative Award for CAI Platform

CIBC’s internal AI platform, CAI (CIBC AI), has been named Best Gen-AI Initiative by The Digital Banker, recognizing its innovative use of generative AI to boost productivity and enhance client experience. This marks CIBC’s second consecutive win, following last year’s award for its Knowledge Central Gen-AI pilot. 

Launched bank-wide in May 2025, CAI automates tasks such as document summarization, email drafting, and research compilation. Equipped with advanced tools like automated content generation, customizable templates, and enhanced search, the platform has already saved an estimated 600,000 work hours. CAI also serves as the foundation for tailored AI solutions across the bank, streamlining workflows and enabling scalable business applications. 

The Digital Banker praised CAI’s measurable impact on global banking, noting its alignment with innovation, customer experience, and corporate strategy benchmarks. CIBC emphasized that the recognition reflects its commitment to leveraging AI thoughtfully to support both client needs and team efficiency.
