TransUnion and FrontLobby to Launch Rental Payment Reporting on Credit Files

TransUnion announced a partnership with FrontLobby to enable rental payment reporting on consumer credit files in Canada. The initiative allows landlords and property managers to report tenants’ rental payment history directly to TransUnion, helping renters build and strengthen their credit profiles through on-time rent payments.

The announcement highlights that rent is typically one of the largest recurring expenses for Canadians, yet it has not traditionally been reflected in credit reporting. By incorporating rental payment data, the collaboration aims to expand financial inclusion, provide tenants with greater access to credit opportunities, and offer landlords a new tool to encourage responsible payment behavior.
