Neon Partners with Razorpay to Unlock UPI Payments for India’s Booming Mobile Gaming Market

SAN FRANCISCO/BENGALURU – Neon, a leading direct-to-consumer payments platform for games, has partnered with Razorpay, India’s top payment service provider, to enable local currency payments via UPI, credit, and debit cards for Indian players. The integration opens access to the world’s largest mobile gaming market by volume, where UPI accounts for 83% of all digital transactions.

The partnership adds Razorpay to Neon’s global PSP network—alongside Stripe, PayPal, Paysafe, dLocal, bamboo, and Komoju—covering over 99% of global mobile game spending. Acting as Merchant of Record in India, Neon manages checkout, tax compliance, fraud prevention, and dispute handling, while Razorpay ensures RBI-compliant cross-border remittance.

India saw a record 8.45 billion mobile game app installs in FY 2024–25, with in-app purchase revenues (~$400 million) growing rapidly as digital payments mature. Neon CEO Chris Faught said the collaboration “unlocks both scale and margin” for publishers while delivering seamless, localized experiences for Indian gamers.
