The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) has become the first bank in Bahrain to offer 24/7 USD clearing services for both incoming and outgoing payments. This new service, developed in collaboration with Citi, allows NBB’s corporate and retail clients to process US dollar transactions at any time, streamlining cross-border payments and providing enhanced flexibility.
Ali Abdulkarim, Group Head of Corporate & Commercial Banking at NBB, emphasized the significance of this innovation, stating, “Our partnership with Citi highlights our commitment to delivering industry-leading solutions that empower our customers. The 24/7 USD clearing service enables our clients to manage their USD inflows and outflows with greater efficiency, a vital asset in today’s fast-moving global economy.”

With the introduction of 24/7 USD clearing, NBB is removing traditional constraints of business hours and time zones, offering faster access to USD funds and improved cash flow management. The bank continues to enhance its financial solutions, aiming to deliver a superior customer experience.
