Alternative Payments, a New York-based fintech specializing in B2B payments and checkout infrastructure, has officially expanded into Canada, marking its first international market entry.
Founded in 2021 by Baxter Lanius, the company aims to digitize and automate B2B payment workflows, helping businesses accelerate payments, improve cash flow, and reduce reliance on legacy providers. Its platform serves IT service firms, managed service providers (MSPs), and blue-collar industries by modernizing payments, merchant services, and client financing.
The Canadian expansion includes new offices in Toronto and Vancouver, with local teams to support customers and partners. The move follows a $22 million funding round in April, led by MissionOG and Third Prime, which is fueling global growth and product development.
Lanius described the Canadian launch as “a critical step toward building the first truly global alternative payments network,” noting that the market lacks advanced solutions to automate cross-border B2B payments.
